Natural Texture Holiday Decor Inspiration

If you follow along regularly here, you know about our love of natural textures! Today's post is a collection of visual inspiration for you (and for me) as my Black Friday gifts come rolling through, and we start to decorate for Christmas.

If you're a fan of natural textures, have a look for some inspiration as you prepare gifts, or start decorating for this time of year as well!

I love using greens and fruit for gift adornments, when I can actually remember to dry the fruit ahead of time! Cedar leaves are great because they are mostly flat, so they will stay put underneath tight twine or ribbon. If you have never tried drying orange slices, all you need is one navel orange, very thinly sliced. If you have a handheld mandoline from OXO, the second setting is perfect for this.

Preheat oven to 200 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with a nonstick baking mat. Top with orange slices in a single layer. Bake until the peels are dry and the flesh is translucent, about 2 1/2 hours.

You can use these for gifts, creating garlands, or even decorating a mantle, like you'll see later on!

Your front or backyard has a plethora of decor to be found - I love the variety of plant life shown here for these presents. Bulk white paper or butcher paper are a great deal for a lot of length, and if you have room to store it, I love saving great ribbon I receive on my own presents for another use the next year.

Look how festive the orange slices on this mantle! The aged gold bells are a beautiful touch as well. Fresh greens for a mantle garland, mixed with felt or wooden ball trim, are a stunning natural choice for decor that I love so, so much. Add a string of lights for some extra festive energy!

How precious are these tassel trees?! This looks like such a fun project for the little ones in your life!

I love the layers here, with wooden ball trim, braided wool yarn trim, a few bells strung along some hemp string, and a pom pom trim. A great choice for my neutral lovers out there who don't embrace the red and green of the season ;)

No matter what, I'll have a bag of treats in my pocket as we're decorating to keep these three occupied and not eating everything we set down to put on the tree!
